Novel Nights is a new fundraiser for the Muscogee County Library Foundation.

Each Novel Night is a literary event hosted by a friend of the Foundation. The host chooses the book or literary theme, the menu, the location, and plans a fabulous event. You are invited to peruse the six events and choose the one (or multiple) that sounds the most fun to you.

Whether you enjoy mysteries set in Venice, Regency-era novels, or reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar to your child five times a day - we have an event for you.

FAQs

How do I get invited?
Everyone in the Chattahoochee Valley is invited to Novel Nights!

What happens at the event?
Every Novel Night is unique. Some hosts start with cocktails and then serve a full meal. Others feature buffet-style meals. Sometimes hosts opt to keep the entire party heavy hors d'oeuvres in lieu of a sit-down meal. Look for meal information when you are selecting your dinner choices from the dinner party line-up. Some hosts provide entertainment or other special treats that are novel-related. Some are intimate adult-only events and others will be kid-friendly.

Do I have to dress up?
You don’t. But most events encourage themed or period-dress. Your host will send information to all guests about appropriate dress.

The event I want to attend doesn’t list an address. How do I know where to go?
An email will be sent to all guests with the address and any additional information. We want to protect the private homeowners by not listing it on the public page.

How do I host a Novel Night in support of my public library?
We would love to have you host next year. Reach out to Laura Ann Mann at mclibraryfoundation@gmail.com or 706-243-2705.

What does Novel Nights raise money for?

Funds raised through Novel Nights are used to support library programming for adults and children, to fund essential purchases like new furniture and computers, and to ensure patron access to electronic information and technology. Here are some examples of the programs and resources that the library provided to the community over the last year:
